Hello!
I am Cyndi Hamilton,
I obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in interior design and space planning from Ringling College of Art and Design. With a passion for learning and higher education, I went on to earn a Masters in Business Administration and completed my EPI Certification (an alternative teaching certification program).
I live in sunny Florida with my youngest daughter who is in middle school and recently got her black belt in Tae Kwon Do. My oldest daughter graduated from Navy boot camp in October after attending A school in Great Lakes IL and has just recently arrived on the USS Abraham Lincoln. She attended SCAD in Savannah. She has published her first book, Delaney's Journal and had the first chapter of her next book "behind the barbed wire" made into a short film that was selected for several international film festivals. I am a proud Momma!
In addition to teaching at AMU/APU, I also teach Ceramics/Pottery I, II, & III and Drawing at Venice High School. We have a three year old Yorkie named Lilly and a Blue Beta fish named Sir Celeste. I know Celeste is a girl’s name but he is a half moon beta and blue so my daughter thought Celeste was a great name and we added the Sir so everyone will know he is a boy.
When I am not teaching, out on the water, or spending time with my family, I am involved with community outreach programs. I am a member of the Sierra Club and World Wildlife Foundation, a donor for United Way, sponsor for Venice High School’s Hacky Sack Club and a member and volunteer for the North Port Art Center. I also made the 2010- 2011 Cambridge who’s Who.
I am passionate about learning, teaching, the water, my family, and community. I am very patient and understanding. If there is a problem or an issue to be solved, I will offer a kind ear and a creative solution.
