Biography - Karen L Ferguson


Dr. Karen Ferguson, GPHR

Dr. Ferguson received her Ph.D. in Education Leadership and Organization Development as well as her Master's Degree in Human Resource Development from the University of Louisville. She earned her Bachelor's from Southern Illinois University while still serving on active duty. Additionally, he holds certificates in online and distance education from Indiana University and earned the title of Global Professional in Human Resources (GPHR) in 2009. Dr. Ferguson is qualified to administer the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator and the Thomas-Killman Conflict Mode Instrument.

Prior to entering the field of higher education, Dr. Ferguson served in the US Army for 12 years. While pursuing her advanced degrees, Dr. Ferguson gained experience in a number of areas including higher education, curriculum design and training, quality, and performance and business consulting.

Dr. Ferguson serves on the Board for IMPACT Safety and on the Human Resources Committee for Vision and Vocational Services. Her research interests include human resource management systems, firm performance, performance improvement, and organization development and change.
