My name is Ali Boolani and I graduated with a PhD in Health and Human Performance from Oklahoma State University (OSU) with a focus on Applied Exercise Science in 2009. I graduated from Tulane University in 2002 with a B.A. and a M.A. in 2003 in International Relations with a concentration on South East Asian Economics and Politics. After Tulane, I received my M.Ed. from University of New Orleans (UNO) in Health and Human Performance in 2006. My research interests include effects of carbohydrate and electrolyte loading on VO2Max, selective attention, and processing speed; gait analysis; orthopedic injury prevention; finding holistic ways to improve health and wellness in the military; correlation between selective attention, processing speed and sports performance and coaches’ perception of athletic IQ; effects of short and long-term antioxidant use on red blood cell damage pre and post exercise. I have several peer-reviewed publications and presentations at international, national and regional conferences. I am a member of ACSM, NSCA and NASM.
