Dr. Ronald Johnson is a product of the military voluntary higher education program. He earned a BSc in Management Studies from the University of Maryland, a Master’s of Human Relations from the University of Oklahoma, and a Ph.D in Organizational Leadership from the University of Oklahoma. His dissertation, Study of Creative Styles and Personality Types of Military Leaders focused on leadership creativity and personality.
Dr. Johnson currently is a faculty member for University of Phoenix Overseas Military Campus, Europe. He is also a consultant on organizational development and leadership programs. He previously was an Academic Dean with Central Texas College. Dr. Johnson served in numerous leadership positions during a distinguished military career. His deployments included Operation Desert Storm and the NATO peacekeeping mission in Yugoslavia.
Dr. Johnson has presented at academic conferences on the importance of military voluntary higher education programs. He is working on two books and collaborating on journal articles. He is an active member of the American Psychological Association, The Society for Human Resource Management and the Academy of Management.
Dr. Johnson is a lifelong learner and brings this enthusiasm into his classroom. He believes a major key to success in the 21st Century is to constantly learn new skills in which to leverage in the business world.
He enjoys exercise to include distance running, having completed six marathons. A former personal fitness trainer, one of the keys to success is to have a healthy body and outlook on life. He also enjoys all types of music and attending concerts and shows.
Dr. Johnson has been married for 18 years and met his wife while serving with the Air Force in Berlin. They met a few months after the Berlin Wall fell, and were married within a year. He also is lover of all things technical, and his colleagues and friends affectionately refer to him as Dr. Gadget.
