Linda Rhoades-Swartz is a fulltime faculty member for APUS teaching various courses including but not limited to Peacekeeping I and II, World Civilizations, War and Diplomacy and History Writing and Research development. Linda holds numerous degrees from various universities, Master of Arts degree in Diplomacy from Norwich University; Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Education/Social Studies with a minor in Political Science from Bloomsburg University and is a certified secondary education teacher, she also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in History from Susquehanna University. She is currently working on her Masters in Political Science with APUS.
Ms. Rhoades-Swartz is an adjunct professor with another online university teaching American History and is a part-time Social Studies Teacher with a prominent online international high school. In the past, Ms. Rhoades-Swartz taught a variety of history courses as a Visiting Lecturer with Susquehanna University. These courses included Latin American History 1492 to 1825, Latin American History 1825 to Present and European History 800 to 1648. She was an adjunct faculty member with Pennsylvania College of Technology where she taught World Civilizations.
Her educational experience is not limited to the online and brick and mortar higher education, Linda has also taught with a nationally known online high school where she rewrote courses and aligned courses to various state standards. She participated in the rewriting of an interactive Online Modern World History text with many instructors. This interactive textbook was released in the Fall of 2009, her contribution were the chapters on The Americas under Imperialism and Muslim Empires: Rise and Decline. She finished writing the first half of an Online Interactive American History to 1877 Textbook which will be ready for release for the Fall of 2012 and is currently working on the second half of the Online Interactive American History Textbook.
