
Brian Rich, CPP is with DELL Computers Global Security Division. Mr. Rich began his career with DELL in 2007, overseeing all security operations at the DELL facilities in West Chester, Ohio and Buffalo Grove, IL. He has oversight responsibilities for all security matters including workplace violence, theft and fraud investigations, threat and risk assessments, counter-surveillance, leveraging key partners for the mission, training managers and security teams, and overseeing 58 security officers. Mr. Rich has performed numerous security audits at all domestic DELL facilities, participated in corporate investigations and played instrumental roles in determining best practices for quarterly business reviews, internal audits and contract management. Mr. Rich finds himself in a new global role of logistics security, which is exciting and challenging.
Prior to joining DELL Computers, Mr. Rich was a Special Agent with the FBI in New Jersey. He served on the public corruption squad as well as the Evidence Response Team. He has earned the Director’s citation for investigative work that resulted in the restructuring of the NYPD’s handling of internal investigations. He has served both city and county police in the state of Maryland, adjacent to the DC border. He has served as a detective, in charge of major crimes and has earned the Officer of the Year award, as well as numerous citations of merit and distinction. Mr. Rich has also served as the Chief of security and probation for the court system in Mason, Ohio as well as a District manager for the Asset protection program for Target stores.
In addition to his work with DELL, Mr. Rich facilitates a group therapy program for those struggling with drug and alcohol addiction, theft, anger management, solicitation, etc. Mr. Rich regularly volunteers his time to assist in counseling and teaching those fraught with issues and addictions in an effort to course correct and regain self esteem and life purpose.
Mr. Rich holds a B.A. degree in arts and humanities from the University of Maryland, College Park, Maryland. He holds a Master’s degree in forensic science from George Washington University, Washington, D.C. Mr. Rich has performed internships with the United States Secret Service forensics unit as well as the Montgomery County Police crime scene unit. Mr. Rich is a board certified protection professional [CPP] with the American Society for Industrial Security [ASIS International], and currently serves as chapter secretary for the Cincinnati chapter. He has attended and graduated the FBI academy as well as the police academy. He has taken numerous classes and seminars in interviewing and interrogation, evidence and forensics, security management, and leadership.
Mr. Rich has given presentations on interviewing, dynamic security leadership and personal safety. He has authored articles on workplace violence, contingency management and a forensic analysis for the shotgun pellet placement. Most importantly, he celebrates the joy of his family. Mr. Rich has four beautiful daughters aged 2 through 12 and a little guy who calls his Dad his “Main Man”. He has a wonderful wife who still laughs at his ridiculous humor after fourteen years of marriage.
