Lisa M Bruno

Professor Lisa Bruno received her B.A. in Administration of Justice from Salve Regina University in 1993. She received her M.A. in Criminal Justice in 1997 from the college of Anna Maria in Paxton, Massachusetts. Professor Bruno received her juris doctor degree from the Massachusetts School of Law in 2000. Professor Bruno is admitted to practice law in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts and the United States Federal Court District of Massachusetts.

Professor Bruno began her career in Criminal Justice in 1994. She worked for the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department in Boston, Massachusetts as a case worker. She worked as an advocate for the detainees and inmates at the Nashua Street Jail. Professor Bruno continued her professional experience in the field working as a probation officer for the Massachusetts Trial Court supervising adult criminal offenders while simultaneously attending law school at night. After she was admitted to practice law in 2001 Professor Bruno began working as a private defense attorney concentrating in criminal law and immigration law.

Professor Bruno has been teaching both criminal justice and law courses for the past five years at various private colleges. Presently, Professor Bruno works as a full-time instructor teaching criminal justice courses and legal courses at the undergraduate level online.

Before she commenced her career in the criminal justice and legal field she traveled all over the world. She resided in Costa Rica, Central America for a year and is fluent in Spanish.

Professor Bruno has since left practicing law actively in Massachusetts to teach full-time as a college professor.
