Julie A. Riley

Julie Riley received both her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Mount Saint Mary College in Newburgh. Her bachelor’s degree was in English and Communication Arts and her master’s degree was in Educational Psychology. In addition, she has additional graduate credits from Fordham University in Graduate Social Work.

After completing her undergraduate degree, I began working as a junior high school English teacher. She worked in both public and private schools for a total of 12 years, mostly teaching Language Arts and Reading. In addition, she has worked with elementary school children and high school students on a variety of projects developed to explore alternative education for "at risk" populations. She has worked extensively on grant-funded projects that aimed at improving discipline in schools as well as raising expectations in terms of curriculum.

In 2000, she began teaching at the college level and soon began online teaching as well. She has been a professor at a small local college and several universities that specializes in distance learning. She teaches courses in English, Education, Psychology and Foundations of Online Learning.

In addition to spending time with her family, she enjoys reading, taking long walks and traveling to new places.
