Caroline M. Rerucha received an A.B. magna cum laude in History from Rosemont College and an M.A. in History from the University of Toledo, where she was a graduate assistant. At Trinity College in Dublin, Ireland, her Ph.D. dissertation in Modern History was entitled Recruiting in Ireland for the American Civil War. Dr. Rerucha now volunteers at the Internet desk at the Hilton Head Public Library. She worked and volunteered for ten years at Fort Meigs State Memorial, a War of 1812 site in Ohio. In addition to doing research in each of Ireland’s thirty-two counties, she has traveled extensively in Europe. Dr. Rerucha was awarded a fellowship to the 2004 West Point Summer Seminar in Military History, and took a year of Army R.O.T.C. at the University of Toledo. Her interests include the American Civil War, Ireland, and the Oglala Sioux Tribe at Pine Ridge, as well as Kerry Blue Terriers.
