Michael D. Finney holds a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of South Carolina, a Masters of Divinity from Columbia International University, and is completing a Doctor of Education from Oklahoma State University. Michael currently serves as the Principal for the Joshua Tree Group, a consulting organization on training and management for emergency services. He has served as the Director of Public Safety Services for Great Oaks Institute of Technology and Career Development, as Curriculum Manager for Fire Protection Publications, and as Certification and Curriculum Coordinator for South Carolina Fire Academy. He has also served over 20 years in the fire service holding ranks from fire fighter to fire chief. He currently serves as the fire chief for Glendale, Ohio. Michael has served with such organizations as South Carolina Society of Fire Service Instructors, NFPA 1041 committee (2002 edition), and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the International Society of Fire Service Instructors. He has published extensively on such topics as fire service training, leadership, and management. Mike is an avid hunter and fisherman and enjoys working with computers. He lives, with his wife Tory and three kids Ashlyn, Joshua, and Allysa, in Cincinnati, Ohio.
