
Keith Ogden received his BA and MA in Economics, with History as a minor, from LSU, Baton Rouge, LA. He subsequently received the equivalent of a second MA from the Industrial College of the Armed Forces, Washington, DC, where he was a Distinguished Graduate of the Economics of National Defense program. Most recently he has been a contractor to the US Department of State for the counternarcotics program in Afghanistan, and resided in Afghanistan. Prior to this employment, he established and operated several security consulting, training and manufacturing companies in the Philippines, and the Peoples Republic of China where he had a joint venture with the Peoples Liberation Army. His US government career included 20 years as a Regular Army Military Intelligence Officer, detailed to the Central Intelligence Agency three times, twice in Vietnam and once for four years as Senior Military Instructor at the Special Training Center. He received the National Intelligence Medal of Achievement from the Directer of Central Intelligence for his work in designing and implementing two courses for senior military and diplomatic personnel. After retiring as a Lt Col, Ogden made a lateral transfer to CIA, and spent additional years as an Operations Officer. His military decorations include the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star (with one cluster), Meritorious Service Medal, Joint Service Commendation Medal, and numerous foreign decorations. His interests include photography, shooting, fishing, historical research and the preparation of Asian and game cuisine.
