Bryan M Scyphers

Bryan Scyphers received a bachelor’s degree in education from Virginia Tech and a master’s degree in higher education from the University of North Carolina. Bryan also holds the Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) credential. He retired as a college Associate Dean in 2008, following 30 years of NC state service. Bryan is currently an Emergency Planning Analyst for the US Department of Health and Human Services’ National Disaster Medical System, serving as a Planning Section Chief on the HHS Incident Response Coordination Team. This team coordinates the federal ESF-8 Public Health and Medical response to disasters or National Special Security Events. Bryan is a Nationally Registered Paramedic with EMS experience since 1976 and has responded to over 8,000 EMS calls. He was a student athletic trainer for Virginia Tech’s football team and a trainer with the San Francisco Giants baseball organization. He and his wife, Marsha, live in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
