Biography - Rebecca A Antunes


Rebecca Soares earned her BSE degree at Bridgewater State College where she majored in Special Education and double majored in Fine Art. Professor Soares then went on to earn her Master’s Degree in Early Childhood Education at Rhode Island College in 2004.

Mrs. Soares has been a public school teacher for 12 years. She has worked one year at the middle school level and one year at the elementary level but has devoted the majority of her teaching years to the education of young children with special needs. Throughout her time as a teacher, Rebecca has served as the School Improvement Liason, as well as the School Council representative, working closely with the superintendant to ensure successful curriculum development and implementation for the early childhood program. Professor Soares has been teaching at APUS since 2007.

Mrs. Soares was recently married in October 2010 and currently resides in Massachusetts with her husband. She enjoys playing competitive volleyball and softball, as well as coaching volleyball and giving private softball lessons.
