Biography - Shawn Sessa


Shawn Sessa has been with American Public University System (APUS) for four years now. Shawn is currently an adjunct faculty member here at American Public University System (APUS). Shawn currently teaches various courses in the Sports and Health program. Shawn has previously held the position of Athletic Director at his full time position where he is a certified PE and Special Education teacher in the public school system in MD.

Shawn holds a Bachelors Degree in Integrated Marketing Communications and a Masters in Athletic Coaching Education from West Virginia University (WVU) in Morgantown, WV. Shawn has taught various classes and advised student-athletes at WVU. He currently works with WV Special Olympics as a head coach in Basketball and Swimming as well as served on the Monongalia County Managagement Committee for Special Olympics. Shawn has currently coached 6 gold medal aquatic athletes at the National Special Olympics Level, two of which won gold in all three events they participated in.
