Biography - Brent R Webber

Professor Webber holds an MBA with a concentration in Risk Management & Insurance and a BA with a concentration in Economics. He completed his undergraduate studies at Southern Connecticut State University and his graduate studies at St. John’s University/College of Insurance in New York City.

Professionally speaking, he has worked in the insurance and financial services sector for over 10 years. His positions have included working for large publicly traded insurance companies and financial trading firms in capacities that have ranged from statistical analysis, general claims adjusting and equity trading on Wall Street. Professor Webber has also worked as the Career Center Coordinator at St. John’s University/College of Insurance. In that role, he was responsible for maintaining the career center and for working with students on job placement skills and career direction. He represented the school at career fairs and generally within the industry.

As a graduate student, Professor Webber was the recipient of a graduate assistant scholarship and he was awarded national recognition as a selection to Who’s Who of Student’s in the United States in both 1997 and 1998. He also received the College Life Leadership Award in 1998 as a graduate student. This award was based on his recognition of the overall importance and support of student organizations on campus.

Professor Webber has also studied overseas in Holland and speaks Dutch. He enjoys flyfishing, reading, hiking, ice-fishing, volunteering for the 4-H and studying the financial markets. Lastly, he played for a NCAA National Champion soccer team in 1990.
