Undergraduate Book Grant Through the AMU Undergraduate Book Grant, all undergraduate students earning academic credit are provided with textbooks, e-books, journals, and other publications at no cost to the student. If textbooks are required, textbooks will be shipped to the student each semester directly from MBS -- at no additional cost. All undergraduate students are awarded this grant upon admission with the expectation that students will successfully complete their course(s) each semester. Students receiving the Book Grant that do not successfully complete courses must return textbooks to MBS at their expense. Delivery Time Effective as of the February 2009 session, all books will be shipped according to the schedule below: Books shipped to this location | days before class start | shipper: | International addresses | 30 days | USPS Global express | APO/FPO | 21 days | USPS Priority Mail | Alaska, Hawaii & Puerto Rico | 14 days | UPS 2nd day | Guam | 14 days | USPS Priority | US Continental (CONUS) – PO Boxes | 7 days | USPS Priority Mail | US (CONUS) street addresses | 7 days | UPS Ground | US (CONUS) street addresses (during the 1st week of a session) | next day | UPS Next day |
EBooks APUS is transitioning to using books in electronic format as they become available from the publishers. This transition will make book delivery easier, faster, and reduce material and delivery costs allowing APUS to maintain the current registration costs for our students. Currently, we have about 60 eBooks for various courses. A majority of the course materials will be electronic within four years, but print and alternative media will continue to be available for those deployed overseas.
Returning Books Undergraduate students who drop or withdraw from a course and do not register for the same course in the next semester are required to return all course materials issued through the AMU Book Grant. Failure to do so will result in penalties. Any student dropping or withdrawing from a course must send an email to books@apus.edu with a student ID, course number, semester session, and date of withdrawal. Students are responsible for returning the books to MBS at their expense. Students should refer to the "Sending Books to MBS" section in the Student Handbook for specific book return instructions. |
