| How do I participate in the SOCNAV Degree Network System with AMU? | | | | | After you have applied for Admission to AMU and chosen one of the approved SOCNAV Degree Network System (DNS) Programs, you should begin the Transfer Credit Evaluation process immediately. During this process, your prior academic, military, and exam credits will be reviewed and applied toward your new AMU Bachelor's Degree. Once this is completed, your SOCNAV STUDENT AGREEMENT will be generated and sent to you via e-mail. Visit the APUS Transfer Credit site to "GET STARTED" with the Transfer Credit Evaluation Process. While waiting for the results of your Credit Evaluation to be completed and your Student Agreement to be generated, we encourage you to register for a course unlike any other you have taken in the past. If you need assistance with your first course selection, please contact counseling@apus.edu. Additionally, it is important to note that while AMU makes every effort to identify our eligible SOCNAV students, it is the student's responsibility to alert AMU that he/she may fall under the SOCNAV DNS by e-mailing his/her Student ID to SOC@apus.edu. | | | | |

| I don't want to name AMU as my "Home College," but want to take courses with AMU to transfer toward my degree at other institution. What do I do? | | | Students participating in the SOCNAV system who wish to take courses with AMU to transfer back to their “home college” should first register as an UNDERGRADUATE COURSES FOR TRANSFER student. Then you need to contact the Military Credit Evaluations Department to be sure that the coursework you intend to take at AMU is listed on the SOC transferability tables. Only courses approved and appearing on these tables will result in a guarantee of transferability to your home institution. You can contact the Military Credit Evaluations Department at SOC@apus.edu for more specific information on this process.

| I am pursuing a degree at another institution and have listed them as my "Home College." I have decided I want to list AMU as my "Home College" instead. What do I do? | | | First, you need to notify your current “Home College” of your intent, and be sure to discuss this with your ESO (Education Service Officer) as well. Failure to notify these parties before beginning coursework at AMU could result in delayed registrations, and Tuition Assistance Funding. For detailed information about SOCNAV Student Responsibilities, visit http://www.soc.aascu.org/socnav/Default.html. Once the proper notifications have been sent, you can begin your studies at AMU by completing the online Admissions Application and select one of the approved SOCNAV Degree Network Academic Programs. You should then begin the Transfer Credit Evaluation process immediately. During this process, your prior academic, military, and exam credits will be reviewed and transferred in toward your new Bachelors Degree with AMU. Once this is completed, your SOCNAV STUDENT AGREEMENT will be generated and sent to you via e-mail.
