The African-American Studies students pursue a minor that covers the growth of African-American history, government, civil rights, culture, commerce, diplomacy, and international relations out of African history. Students will learn of the great works and peoples of African society, Africa’s situation in the 21st Century, the African-American’s historical and contemporary struggles and successes, among many other related issues. This degree is applicable to many different professional fields due to its liberal arts and social sciences component that emphasizes critical thinking, written communications, and quality research.
