The Associate of Science in Fire Science provides students with the foundation for beginning practice in the Fire Science profession, as well as a springboard to additional study at the baccalaureate level. Program Objectives: In addition to the institutional and general education level learning objectives, the Associate of Science in Fire Science also seeks the following specific learning outcomes of its graduates. Graduates in this degree program will be able to: - Describe the historical development of fire protection and response from its origins through contemporary times.
- Identify and differentiate the various forms of fire, their fundamental scientific principles, and their associated mitigation and response strategies.
- Describe the legal and regulatory duties and responsibilities of the fire department as a public organization.
